6/21/2023 0 Comments Mac concealer comparison![]() This concealer would be suited to covering dark circles that aren’t too severe or blemishes that aren’t too red and are in need of a concealer that is moisturising. It leaves a luminous finish on the skin and is very easy to blend with your weapon of choice and doesn’t look too orange once you blend the heck out of it. The coverage is medium at best and doesn’t cover any dark acne scars that I have which is disappointing since that’s what I do want to cover. It’s very runny, not as runny as Face & Body, but runny nonetheless. I’m probably an NC37 now and am more yellow as opposed to when I’m naturally tanned where I turn orange. I’m lazy like that.Īs you can see from the swatch above the colour is actually closer to orange than tan or brown with yellow tones. For hygiene reasons it’s advisable that you put some on the back of your hand and apply with a separate brush instead of going straight from the tube. It comes with a brush tip applicator which is a bit flimsy and deposits too much product so wiping it off before application is essential to avoid wastage. This is available in 15 shades according to the MAC Australia website and retails for $38 where it is also available at Myer and David Jones. ![]() The shade I have is NC42 and is ridiculously dark now that my tan’s gone, more on that later. Click here for the review of the Select Cover Up Concealer by MAC.Today we’re looking at MAC’s Mineralize Concealer that I bought I think back in January. It retails for $21.00/19.20€ for 9 ml of product (or 0.30 US fl oz) and it’s a permanent product, available online on MAC’s website and in all MAC stores and corners. I’m really not into the glass bottle, because it’s very fragile and a bit “dangerous” to put it in the bag and the pump releases way too much product for what I and most people need. ![]() I think that, if well applied, it can perform as a camouflage concealer and still result natural on the skin. Since it’s longwearing, it may tend to dry the skin, especially on the dry skins (use a good moisturizing cream or some kind of oil and a primer), but on me works fine and doesn’t crease (i immediately set it with powder) or smudge. It’s even recommended as an eyeshadow base too and sometimes, instead of using a foundation, I mix it with a moisturizer and I apply it all over the face with a wet Miracle Complexion Sponge to even out my skin and looks very natural. If you apply it light handed, it can even provide a medium natural coverage. It’s part of the Back to Mac program too! What I love about this product is that it’s very versatile, longlasting/waterproof, full coverage and a little bit goes a long way. NC 20 It’s definitely warmer and love it too.NC 15 Tends to be a tiny bit more neutral, almost cooler, but it looks very good on me. When I’m at my “palest” or when I want a very bright and fresh undereye area I go for NC15, when I’m tan I go for my NC20. I’m in between NC15 and NC20 and I usually mix them. It’s described as a “ fluid concealer that provides medium to full matte coverage for up to 15 hours” with a “ liquid camouflage-like formula that brightens dark areas, erases spots and evens skin tone”. ![]() I got it some months ago, because I was looking for a very high coverage concealer that I could use sheered out on a wet sponge or full on with a camouflage effect on areas “in need”, leaving the rest of the face fresher and with a lightweight base. The MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer is probably one of the brand’s most famous products. ![]()
